Occupation of Chinese-built housing in Angola to begin soon

An official says the first occupants of housing in a district of the southern Angolan city of Lubango developed by a Chinese company will move in this year, O País reports.

The Angolan newspaper quotes Governor Luís da Fonseca Nunes of the province of Huíla as saying he would turn over the first 800 homes in the Quilemba district of Lubango to their occupants by the end of March.

Mr Nunes said priority in allotting the homes would be given to young families and civil servants.

Quilemba has at least 11,000 homes, a secondary school containing 24 classrooms and a health centre, which will open on April 4, O País says.

Citic Construction Co. Ltd of China began developing Quilemba in 2012.
