BIMCO expects China to import more oil from Angola, Brazil

The Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) shipping industry association expects the fastest growth in oil exports this year to be in shipments of crude to China from Angola and Brazil, Marine Link reports.

The website quotes BIMCO Chief Shipping Analyst Peter Sand as saying oil tanker lines are feeling increases in Chinese demand for crude – increases he expects to persist all this year.

He said China imported 93 percent of its oil by sea.

Russia is the biggest supplier of crude to China, Saudi Arabia the second-biggest and Angola the third-biggest, Marine Link quotes Mr Sand as saying.
