Over 1,000 Chinese companies pondering investment in Angola

Angola-China Chamber of Commerce President Arnaldo Calado has said over 1,000 Chinese private companies in various industries are interested in investing in Angola, O País reports.

The Angolan newspaper quotes Mr Calado as saying the interest of Chinese companies in investing is becoming clearer, and that the next step is to get down to talking about money.

Mr Calado said improvements in the Angolan business were needed to meet the requirements of Chinese companies.

He called for the government in Luanda to encourage the formation of Sino-Angolan partnerships for the benefit of the Angolan economy and Angolan businesspeople.

Mr Calado was speaking on his return to Angola from a conference on Sino-African co-operation in the private sector, held in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou.
