Confidence index suggests Mozambique’s business environment improved in Q2

A gauge of business confidence in Mozambique indicates that the climate there improved in the second quarter of this year, the O País reports.

The newspaper says the index indicated the deterioration of the economic climate since the fourth quarter of 2015.

The newspaper’s report quotes the Mozambican National Statistics Institute as saying entrepreneurs expect inflation to keep slowing, and that demand and employment will increase in the months to come.

Businesspeople in construction, financial services, housing, catering and trading felt the prospects for the economy were bright, while people in the transport business felt they were dim, O País says.
