The Chinese National Bureau Statistics says there are more signs pointing to the stable growth in the Chinese economy, the Government-run news agency Xinhua reports.
Bureau spokesman Xing Zhihong told a press conference the economy was operating within a normal range but he expects more positive changes as external and domestic demand intensifies. Supply-side structural reform was also underway and the service sector now accounted for 54.1 percent of GDP in the first half.
Mr Xing made the comments on Monday after the release of the first half’s GDP figure. Quarterly growth in the mainland ranged between 6.7 percent and 6.9 percent for the previous eight quarters, Mr Xing reportedly said.
