The African Development Bank forecasts that agriculture will help propel expansion of Mozambican gross domestic product by 4.5 percent this year and 5 percent next year, Lusa reports.
The Portuguese news agency quotes an African Development Bank publication, the African Economic Outlook 2019, as saying the bank expects Mozambican agriculture to continue to recover from the drought three years ago.
The bank also expects extractive industries, notably coal mining, to drive economic growth, Lusa says.
This month the World Bank raised its forecasts of Mozambican economic growth to 3.5 percent from 3.4 percent for this year, and to 4.1 percent from 3.6 percent for next year.
