Airline expects direct flights to link Mainland with the world beyond Portugal

An executive of Capital Airlines, which intends to fly direct between China and Portugal, has said the new service will help connect Mainland China with Africa and Latin America, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes Capital Airlines Marketing Director Wang Yinjun as saying Portugal can serve as a hub for Chinese passengers boarding onward flights.

The report quotes Mr Wang as saying his airline hopes in due course to put on daily direct flights between Portugal and China.

When the direct service begins on July 26, the airline will put on three return flights a week.

Capital Airlines also has plans to begin a service between Macau and Beijing that will connect with its service between Beijing and Lisbon, Lusa says.
