Angola calls for the Mainland’s expertise, capital to boost development

Angola needs the Mainland’s capital, management, technology and intellectual resources to help promote development, the Minister for the Economy Abrahão Gourgel told the Angola-China Investment Forum.

Mr Gourgel’s remarks were made during the forum’s closing day, reports the Portuguese news agency Lusa.

The forum opened a new era of economic relations between the two countries, with the private sector willing to participate actively in the business and social development of the African nation, Mr Gourgel reportedly said.

Investment in infrastructure was a priority for the Angolan government, while agriculture, geology, mining, trade and tourism also represented investment opportunities.

Lusa says deals worth more than US$1.2 billion were signed during the conference that drew more than 450 businesspeople.
