Angola-China Chamber of Commerce to be launched this week

Angola and China are due to launch formally this week a shared chamber of commerce, Angolan news agency Angop reported on Tuesday.

The Joint Angola-China Chamber of Commerce is to be inaugurated on Thursday in Luanda, the Angolan capital.

Its aim is to support existing co-operation between business people from both nations, in order to boost trade between the countries and the technological development of Angola, said Angop.

The joint chamber’s work would include providing information to its members on issues related to trade, investment and technology transfer between the two countries, the news agency added.

The organisation would also represent its members in discussions with public institutions in China and Angola.

According to the media outlet, the new joint chamber is the result of a suggestion by a group of entities and individuals from China and Angola. The spokesman for the group that made the recommendation is Manuel Arnaldo Calado of Angola.
