Angola, China to co-operate more in countering corruption

Angolan and Chinese officials have agreed to increase Sino-Angolan co-operation in applying the law to make Angola a better place for foreigners to invest, and in countering corruption, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency says agreement on these matters was reached at a meeting in Luanda between Angolan Justice and Human Rights Minister Francisco Queiroz and Chinese Deputy Minister of Justice Yuan Shuhong.

The report quotes Mr Queiroz as saying Angola wishes to co-operate with China in fields such as settling disputes out of court and making secure identity cards.

It quotes Mr Yuan as saying his purpose in Angola is to enhance Sino-Angolan co-operation in investment with a view to increasing economic exchanges.

During his three-day visit to Angola Mr Yuan also met Angolan Economy and Planning Minister Luís de Fonseca, Lusa says.
