Angola now main supplier of Chinese independent oil refiners

Angola shipped 1.84 million tonnes of crude oil to independent refineries in China last month, 18.8 percent more than the month before and 89.8 percent more than a year earlier, S&P Global Platts reports.

The collector of oil market information says its monthly survey found that Angola thus overtook Brazil and Russia to become the biggest supplier of crude to Chinese independent refineries.

The report says nine Chinese independent refineries imported nine grades of crude from Angola last month, the Cabinda, Mondo and Saturno grades being most in demand.

The first shipment of 132,000 tonnes of a new grade of Angolan crude, Mostarda, has arrived in eastern China, bound for Shandong Jincheng Petrochemical Group Co. Ltd, S&P Global Platts says.
