Angola opens consulate in Guangzhou

The Angolan Government opened on Friday its third consulate in China. The new consulate is located in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

The new consular office, headed by João Baptista da Costa, was created to meet the economic and diplomacy needs of the African nation, the report said. The new consulate will serve those interests not only Guangdong, but also in the Chinese provinces of Fujian, Hainan, and Guangxi.

It is the third Angolan consular mission in China, adding to the one in Macao and the one in Hong Kong, Angop reported. Angolan interests in China are also represented by the African country’s Embassy in Beijing.
