Angolan aircrew training to fly Chinese airliners

Xi’an Aircraft Industrial Corp. of China is training 22 Angolan aircrew to fly its MA60 airliners, the China Daily reports.

The newspaper says Xi’an Aircraft is giving the aircrew a three-month course of instruction in flying the short-range turboprop plane, being taught at its civil aircraft customer service center in the central Chinese city of Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi province.

Xi’an Aircraft is supplying Angola with two MA60s, which the aircrew, once trained, will fly home.

Xi’an Aircraft is a subsidiary of state-owned Aviation Industry Corp. of China, which has delivered over 100 MA60s or MA600s to more than 260 airlines in 18 countries since it began selling them abroad in 2004, the China Daily says.
