Angolan, Chinese businesspeople to discuss trade, investment

Angola-China Chamber of Commerce President Manuel Calado has said Angolan businesspeople and Chinese businesspeople from Macao and Guangdong will discuss trade and investment opportunities when they gather at the Macau International Fair (MIF), the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) says.

IPIM issued a written statement quoting Mr Calado as saying his country is looking for Chinese investment and that Angolan businesspeople expect to be well received by their Chinese counterparts at the fair.

Mr Calado said the gathering of businesspeople would learn how Macao functions as a place where China and the Portuguese-speaking world can conduct business,

The MIF opens on October 19, IPIM says.

Sino-Angolan trade was worth US$13,4 billion in the first seven months of this year, 50 percent more than in the equivalent period last year.
