Angolan govt to take mining rights roadshow to China

Angolan Minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum Diamantino de Azevedo has said his government will take a roadshow to Beijing to tout what will be put up for sale at the next auction of Angolan mining licences, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes Mr Azevedo as saying the roadshow will begin in Luanda on August 27 and then go to Dubai, London and Beijing.

The report says licences to mine minerals in each of five provinces will be sold: one to mine diamonds in Luanda Norte and one to mine diamonds in Lunda Sul; one to mine phosphates in Cabinda and one to mine phosphates in Zaire; and one to mine iron ore in Cuanza Norte.

Precisely how the licences will be auctioned has yet to be settled, Lusa quotes Mr Azevedo as saying.
