Angolan President, Chinese Ambassador discuss bilateral co-operation

The President of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos, and China’s Ambassador to the African nation, Cui Aimin, met on Monday to promote bilateral co-operation, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in the Angolan capital, Luanda.

Mr Cui said – as quoted by the media outlet – he valued the views of the Angolan President regarding the development of ties between the two countries. One of the issues discussed was further co-operation in the field of public safety in Angola.

Additionally the Ambassador praised measures implemented by the Angolan Government to deal with the nation’s current economic crisis. He said they had achieved good results. According to the news report he added the Chinese Government was confident about the future of Angola, and was pledged to continue supporting the African nation’s development.

The two countries have been co-operating strongly in the fields of economics, trade, politics and diplomacy, Angop added.
