Angolan president to visit China next week

Angolan President João Lourenço will pay an official visit to China from October 8 to 10, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency says Chinese President Xi Jinping invited Mr Lourenço.

Mr Lourenço was last in Beijing only last month, when he attended a Sino-African summit meeting and met Mr Xi.

Mr Xi told his guest that China was ready to co-operate more with Angola in all fields, to enhance Sino-Angolan communication and to enhance co-ordination of the Chinese and Angolan approaches to important international matters, Xinhua says.

In another report, the Portuguese news agency, Lusa, says Angolan Foreign Minister Manuel Augusto and National Bank of Angola Governor José de Lima Massano will accompany Mr Lourenço in Beijing next week.
