Angola’s Bengo province invites tourism investment

An official from Angola’s Bengo province has called for fresh domestic and foreign investment in its tourism and hospitality industries, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

Mateus Gonçalves, Head of the Department of Hotel and Tourism from the provincial Directorate of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism, issued his call on Thursday.

Mr Gonçalves told Angop that the province has tourism potential and the building of some hospitality infrastructure had brought some improvement in regional tourism. But he added much more needs to be done in Bengo.

Mr Gonçalves noted that building new hotels and tourism facilities there would help to create more jobs for young locals. Such projects would also help boost the region’s revenues and contribute to the province’s economic development, the official added.
