Angola’s Foreign Minister to visit China

Angola’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a press statement that Minister Manuel Domingos Augusto would visit Chinese capital Beijing later this week as part of a four-country official visit, reported Angolan state-run news agency Angop.

Mr Domingos travelled to Republic of Congo’s capital Brazzaville on Friday to join the 5th Ministerial Meeting of the Representatives and Guarantors of the Framework Agreement for Peace, Security and Cooperation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Great Lakes region.

The framework agreement, signed in 2013, was promoted by the United Nations, the African Union, and the Southern African Development Community, of which Angola is a member.

Angola’s top diplomat will then travel to South Africa’s Johannesburg, China and finally to Berlin, in Germany, Angop’s report added, without disclosing the reasons for the official trip.
