Arrangements in hand for Portuguese issue of yuan bonds

Portuguese Finance Minister Mário Centeno has said the arrangements for his government’s issue of bonds denominated in yuan will be completed soon, now Standard and Poor’s has given Portuguese debt an investment-grade rating, Bloomberg reports.

The news agency quotes Mr Centeno says the rating allows a wider range of investors to hold Portuguese debt.

The report says S&P raised its credit rating for Portugal to BBB- from BB+ on Friday.

The Portuguese government announced this year that it might issue yuan-denominated bonds to tap a wider variety of investors, Bloomberg says.
