Banco BIC of Angola hopes to open Macao branch

Angolan lender Banco BIC SA will ask next month for permission to open a branch in Macau, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes the Angolan delegate to the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, Belarmino Barbosa, as saying so.

“Angola has entered a new period of diversification of the economy. We have a new government that is committed to diversification and foreign investment, and China is one of the focuses of our partnership, since it is one of the biggest creditors of our country,” Mr Barbosa told reporters in Macao.
