Bolsonaro aiming to add to Sino-Brazilian ties

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has said his country means to expand its relationship with China, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency quotes Mr Bolsonaro as telling foreign correspondents in Brasília that Brazil opens its arms to all countries. “We are open to trading with the whole world,” he said.

The report quotes the president’s chief of staff, Onyx Lorenzoni, as saying Brazil has the biggest programme in the world of sales of concessions and assets to the private sector, such as concessions to build and run railways, inland waterways, airports, power lines and power stations, including solar farms.

Chinese bids will be very welcome, Xinhua quotes Mr Lorenzoni as saying.
