Brazil-China Cooperation Fund proposes to disburse US$2.4 bln

The Brazilian Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management says the managers of the Brazil-China Co-operation Fund propose to put US$2.4 billion into the first five projects they have chosen to support, Reuters reports.

The news agency quotes the ministry as saying, without elaboration, that the projects are in energy, logistics, infrastructure and technology.

The report says a group of banks selected for the purpose will now evaluate the projects chosen.

The Brazil-China Cooperation Fund was set up last year with US$20 billion in capital to facilitate Chinese investment in Brazil, Reuters says.
