Brazilian exporters, Chinese govt settle chicken price row

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Brazilian exporters of chicken have agreed to settle a dispute arising from suspicion of dumping, Reuters reports.

The news agency quotes a lawyer for the exporters as saying the agreement sets minimum prices for Brazilian chicken sold to China, beginning on February 18.

The agreement puts an end to a Chinese investigation of dumping of Brazilian frozen chicken in the Chinese market, which began in 2017, Reuters says.

China was the main market for Brazilian farm exports last year, when farm products made up 42.4 percent of Brazilian exports.
