A series of broadcasts abroad of Chinese television programmes and films, called Image of China, began in Lisbon last week with the airing of the first episode of the serial drama “Feather Flies to the Sky”, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese government-run news agency says the programme was the first Chinese production to be broadcast in Portugal.
The report quotes Chinese broadcasting official Nie Chenxi as saying he hopes the Image of China broadcasts will enhance mutual understanding and trust, and so strengthen the Sino-Portuguese partnership.
More Chinese television programmes and films will be dubbed or subtitled in Portuguese and shown in Portugal soon, Xinhua says.
