Cabo Verde official outlines ambitions in relationship with China

Cape Verde TradeInvest President Ana Barber has said Cabo Verde is aiming to become a “Macao in Africa” for China, Hoje Macau reports.

The Macao newspaper quotes Ms Barber as saying Cabo Verde has conditions favourable for Chinese investment: its geographical situation, its political and social stability, the dependability of its legal system and the ease of transferring funds in and out of the country.

She said Cabo Verde was ready to receive Chinese investment in manufacturing, communication technology, renewable energy, services and maritime industries.

The keys to maintaining good relations between Cabo Verde and China are the quality of Cabo Verde exports and Chinese investment, the newspaper quotes Ms Barber as saying.
