Cape Verde consumer confidence highest for 3 years in Q1

The main gauge of consumer confidence in Cape Verde rose to its highest level for 3 years in the first quarter of this year, A Semana reports.

The Cape Verde newspaper, citing data compiled by the National Institute of Statistics, says the rise was due to the positive view households had of their own finances and of the economy in general over the succeeding 12 months.

Some 73.3 percent of households felt it would be impossible to save money in the economic circumstances prevailing in the first quarter, while 16.4 percent felt it was possible, A Semana says.
