Cape Verdean Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence Luís Filipe Tavares has said representatives of China and Cape Verde are negotiating an agreement that could lead to direct flights between their countries, Inforpress reports.
The Cape Verdean news agency quotes Mr Tavares as saying so at the end of a five-day visit to China.
Mr Tavares said the agreement would allow carriers such as Beijing Capital Airlines of China and TACV of Cape Verde to begin direct air services.
He said the negotiations could be completed by the middle of next year.
Among the topics that Mr Tavares and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, discussed during the minister’s visit to China were the prospects for Sino-Cape Verdean links in the fields of civil aviation, defence and maritime endeavours, Inforpress says.
