Chamber of Commerce hopes to boost Sino-Angolan non-oil trade

The Angola-China Chamber of Commerce hopes to increase trade between Angola and Mainland China in merchandise other than oil as Angola endeavours to make its economy more diverse, Angop reports.

The Angolan news agency quotes chamber president Arnaldo Calado as saying oil accounts for 97 percent of bilateral trade.

Mr Calado was speaking at a meeting looking into ideas to access Chinese funding for projects undertaken by chamber members.

Members are involved in about 100 projects in Angola, in mining, agriculture, education, construction, manufacturing and other industries, Angop says.
