China bigger market than ever for Angolan exporters

Angolan exporters sold almost 954 billion kwanzas (US$4 billion) worth of goods to China in the fourth quarter of last year, 30.1 percent more than in the third quarter, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency says the growth reinforced the position of China as the main market for Angolan exports, which are mostly oil.

The report, citing data compiled by the Angolan statistics bureau, says China was the market for 55.3 per cent of Angolan exports by value in the fourth quarter, having been the market for 52.9 per cent in the third.

China was the second-biggest source of Angolan imports in the fourth quarter, selling 85.3 billion kwanzas worth of goods in Angola, 6.2 percent less than in the third, Lusa says.
