China Harbour Engineering restarts infrastructure work at Angola’s Sumbe

Work to improve infrastructure of Sumbe, the capital of Cuanza Sul province, has resumed after it ground to a halt, Angop reported.

The Angolan news agency says the Mainland construction company China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. has returned to work to improve rainwater drainage and undertake a topographic survey.

China Harbour Engineering has been contracted to a US$125.2-million project to improve water drainage, footpaths and street paving, lighting and sanitation in the city.

“We are satisfied with this step because citizens expect the city to be a good place to live,” said Sumbe municipal administrator Manuel Rosa da Silva.
