China, Portugal to co-operate in film production

Representatives of China and Portugal will sign an agreement on the joint production of films, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes Portuguese Film and Audiovisual Institute President Filomena Serras Pereira as saying so during a visit to Beijing.

“One of the goals of this visit is to establish relations between producers and to try to work together with China,” the report quotes Ms Pereira as saying.

About 30 Portuguese films are being screened this month in Beijing and in the city of Changsha as part of a Portuguese film festival in China.

Representatives of Portugal and China signed last year an agreement to promote Portuguese films in China and vice-versa, and to build up relations between the Portuguese and Chinese movie industries.
