China puts US$23 bln into Angolan infrastructure

Chinese Ambassador to Angola Cui Aimin says China has spent an estimated US$23 billion on infrastructure in Angola so far, Angop reports.

The Angolan news agency quotes Mr Cui as telling reporters that China may put more into Angolan infrastructure this year.

Mr Cui said his government would keep giving Angola aid for its finance industry and for infrastructure, and encourage Chinese companies to invest in Angola, particularly in agriculture, cultural industries and manufacturing.

Chinese entrepreneurs have begun to invest more in healthcare and agricultural infrastructure in Angola, and to build factories there, Angop quotes the ambassador as saying.
