China still the biggest Brazilian farm export market in June

The value of Brazilian agricultural exports to China grew to US$3.9 billion last month, 33.4 percent more than a year earlier, data published by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply indicate.

The data show that China remained the biggest foreign market for Brazilian agricultural products last month, buying 42.4 percent of Brazilian farm exports by value.

Soybean accounted for 85.1 per cent of the value of Brazilian agricultural exports to China, China having bought 8 million tonnes of Brazilian soybean last month, 1.65 million tonnes more than a year earlier.

China bought US$357.48 million worth of wood pulp from Brazil, its purchases accounting for 42.7 per cent of the value of all Brazilian exports of wood pulp last month, the official data indicate.
