China the main buyer of Angolan exports in Q2

China bought 52.6 percent of Angolan exports in the second quarter of this year, Xinhua says.

The Chinese state-run news agency says Angolan National Statistics Institute data indicate that Angola bought 15.7 percent of its second-quarter imports from China, its second-biggest source, and 17.3 percent from Portugal, its main source.

The report says the value of all Angolan exports in the second quarter was 8.6 percent higher than a year earlier, and that the value of all imports was 3.4 percent lower, but fails to give the value of either.

The Angolan second-quarter international trade surplus was 817.7 billion kwanzas (US$4.92 billion), Xinhua says.
