China tipped to be biggest buyer of Brazilian grain in 2028

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply forecasts that in 10 years grain production in Brazil will be 30 percent greater than it is now, and that China will be the biggest buyer of the grain Brazil exports, Agência Brasil reports.

The state-owned news agency says the ministry expects Brazil to produce 302 million tonnes of grain in the 2027/2028 season, 156 million tonnes of it soybeans.

The report says the ministry expects China to buy about 70 percent of the soybeans Brazil sells in 2028.

The ministry also forecasts that China will be among the biggest buyers of Brazilian pork and beef in 10 years, Agência Brasil says.
