Mainland China will provide 80 million yuan (US$11.5 million) of equipment, training and technical assistance to Mozambique’s military, the government of the African government says.
“This agreement… strengthens the friendship and fraternity ties between our countries’ armed forces,” Mozambique’s Defence Minister Salvador Mtumuke was quoted as saying.
Mr Mtumuke and China’s Ambassador to Mozambique, Su Jian, signed the agreement on Monday in the capital, Maputo.
