The Chinese Government will give Cape Verde 1,191 tonnes of rice tomorrow in a gesture of friendship, A Semana reports.
The Cape Verdean newspaper says the rice will be handed over at a ceremony in the
warehouse of the Cape Verdean Foundation for Social Action in Schools, in the presence of Chinese Ambassador to Cape Verde Du Xiaocong and Cape Verdean government officials.
The rice will for used for the feeding programme run by the foundation, and help Cape Verdeans whose lives have been disrupted by adverse conditions for farming this year, A Semana quotes the Cape Verdean government as saying.
