China’s CGGC eyes Brazilian infrastructure assets

Chinese construction firm China Gezhouba Group Co (CGGC) is considering the acquisition of infrastructure assets in Brazil, a senior executive said last week.

This could be done either via concessions, partnerships or construction projects, Lucas Fan, CGGC’s general director for Brazil, told news agency Reuters.

He added the company wanted to expand not only in Brazil’s energy sector but also in the fields of logistics and sanitation.

According to Mr Fan, CGGC is considering investing in a Brazilian renewable energy firm – Renova Energia SA – that is looking for new partners. Currently there were no active negotiations between the parties on that issue, he added.
