Chinese companies bid to build oil refineries in Angola

Angolan state-owned oil company Sonangol has announced that 9 Chinese companies are competing for contracts to build 2 oil refineries in Angola, Angop reports.

The Angolan state-owned news agency quotes a written statement issued by Sonangol as saying the refineries will be built in Cabinda in the north and in the central city of Lobito.

The report says Sonangol has narrowed down the field to 7 bidders for each contract.

The Chinese bidders are Aviation Industry Corp. of China, China Harbour Engineering Co., China Chemical Engineering Second Construction Corp., China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Corp., Citic Construction Co., Sinopec, China National Chemical Engineering Co., Sinohydro and China National Machinery Industry Corp., Angop says.
