Chinese customs minister visiting Portugal

Chinese Customs Minister Ni Yuefeng will meet Portuguese Agriculture Minister Luís Capoulas Santos in Lisbon today to discuss matters with an agricultural dimension, Agricultura e Mar reports.

The Portuguese farming and fishing website says Mr Ni will later visit Alentejo in southern Portugal, where he will be shown the plantations of Herdade Vale da Rosa, which grows grapes, and Herdade da Figueirinha, which grows pears; and inspect the Vila Galé Hotel eco-tourist attraction.

The Portuguese news agency, Lusa, reported last December that Portugal and China had struck an agreement that would allow Portugal to export more grapes to China.
