A subsidiary of Chinese firm Jinan Sijian Group Construction Co will be in charge of rebuilding a teacher training school in Cape Verde, said the Chinese Embassy in the African country.
Du Xiaocong, the Chinese Ambassador to Cape Vede, attended the project’s groundbreaking ceremony last week, said a statement from the Embassy.
The school is located at São Vicente. Cape Verde’s Government will fund its refurbishment.
According to a previous press release from Jinan Sijian Group, the combined budget for the São Vicente project and a second school, also in Cape Verde, totals RMB30 million (US$4.83 million).
Jinan Sijian is a Chinese company based in Shandong province with projects across several countries including East Timor, Cape Verde, Mongolia and Poland.
