Chinese FM to visit Brazil for BRICS and bilateral meetings

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Brazil from Wednesday to Friday at the invitation of Brazilian Foreign Minister Ernesto Araújo, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency quotes Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang as saying Mr Wang will attend in Brazil a meeting of the foreign ministers of the bloc comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS).

Mr Geng said Mr Wang and Mr Araújo would also hold the third China-Brazil Foreign Ministers’ Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue.

Mr Wang will then visit Chile from Friday to Sunday at the invitation of Chilean Foreign Minister Teodoro Ribera, Xinhua says.
