Chinese investors are among the main players in the Portuguese stockmarket, having invested over €5 billion (US$5.76 billion) in shares in companies listed in Portugal, Dinheiro Vivo reports.
The Portuguese financial news website says that, taken together, Chinese state-owned companies are the third-biggest investor in stocks listed in Lisbon.
They have invested about €3.9 billion in shares in energy companies EDP and REN, and the sum may surpass €6.6 billion if they go ahead with further investments now in the pipeline, Dinheiro Vivo says.
