Chinese-owned furniture emporium opens in Angola

Chinese-owned Guangde Internacional Group Ltd has formally opened a furniture emporium called GUDE in Luanda, Jornal de Chinês reports.

The Chinese-language Angolan newspaper says GUDE had its soft opening last year.

The report says the emporium has a gross floor area of nearly 20,000 square metres.

Its staff will arrange for the products it sells to be delivered and installed.

Guangde Internacional is quoted as saying GUDE has created hundreds of jobs for Angolans and helped develop the economy of Luanda.

According to the company website, Guangde Internacional entered the Angolan market in 1999 and now employs some 450 Chinese and over 1,000 Angolans, Jornal de Chinês says.
