Coimbra association plans website to sell Portuguese goods to China

A business association in Portugal’s Coimbra District wants to set up next year a website to sell Portuguese goods and services in China, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes Horacio Pina Prata, the president of the NERC – Business Association of the Coimbra Region, as saying the European Union would contribute about €300,000 (US$356,000) to the project.

He said the website would give Portuguese entrepreneurs another way to sell their goods and services in China without having to go there. He said companies in Coimbra and elsewhere in central Portugal would increase their sales, producers of food and pharmaceuticals, and technology companies being among those with the greatest export potential.

About 30 companies are interested in the project, Lusa reports.
