Confidence levels increase among Mainland business people

The confidence of Chinese businesspeople in the economy has improved, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency cites a recent survey of 1,960 enterprises nationwide, organised by several government departments under the State Council and the National Bureau of Statistics of China.

Some 20.3 percent of entrepreneurs believe the economy is doing well, an increase of 2.7-percentage points from the same time last year. Forty-three percent of the interviewees said they thought the economy was performing on par, a 4.9 points higher than last year.

Some 36.7 percent of respondents said the economy was performing badly, which was a slight improvememnt of about 7 percentage points in year-on-year terms.
