Delegation from Pan-Pearl River Delta visits Portugal

A delegation from the Pan-Pearl River Delta region, organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), will visit Portugal this month to strengthen co-operation ties.

The delegation includes 35 representatives from nine southern provinces of Mainland China, from Hong Kong and from Macao, IPIM said in a statement on Tuesday. The visit will take place from June 16 to 24, and will include also a visit to Belgium, the statement added.

The delegation is scheduled to visit the Chinese Embassy in Portugal and also AICEP Portugal Global – Trade and Investment Agency. The delegation will additionally attend seminars, meeting representatives of Portuguese environmental and high-tech enterprises.

The visit will enable representatives from the Pan-Pearl River Delta region to understand the investment environments in Portugal and Belgium, as well as the economic and technological opportunities for Chinese enterprises interested in doing business in and with those countries. The visit will also strengthen Macao’s role as a service platform for commercial co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, the statement added.
