Deputy premier calls for govt help to keep China’s shares of global markets steady

China’s deputy premier Wang Yang has called for more government support for the expansion of Chinese enterprises abroad, with a view to making China’s foreign trade more stable, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency quotes Mr Wang as telling a trade conference in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou that his government should make efforts to maintain the recent momentum of China’s foreign trade, and to ensure Chinese enterprises have stable slices of global markets.

The value of China’s merchandise exports was 1.6 percent lower in the first nine months of this year than in the corresponding period last year, and the value of its imports was 2.3 percent lower.
