The latest mean forecast of Brazilian economic growth this year given by economists that the Brazilian central bank polls every week is 0.93 percent, Reuters reports.
The news agency says the mean forecast has now fallen for 16 weeks in a row, to its lowest yet.
In a separate report, Bloomberg says the latest mean forecast given by the economists polled by the central bank is that the main interest rate in Brazil will be 5.75 percent at the end of this year, falling from 6.5 percent now as the central bank tries to stimulate the economy.
The central bank economic activity index, a leading indicator of gross domestic product, was 0.47 percent lower in April than in March, falling sequentially for the fourth month in a row, Reuters says.
The annual rate of growth in Brazilian GDP was 0.5 percent in the first quarter of this year.
